At the Children's Centre and Extended School Show 2008, visitors had the opportunity to participate in 24 free workshops. This year, at the Children & Young People Now Show, there will be five core workshop streams covering the themes of Leadership & Collaboration; Health & Wellbeing; Play; Children's Centres and Extended Schools and Positive Activities for Young People. The workshops are free to all visitors attending the exhibition.

The Children's Centre and Extended Schools Show 2008 offered visitors the chance to network with fellow practitioners, professionals and suppliers from across the field of children's services and an opportunity to share best practice.

In 2008, the Children's Centre and Extended School Show, the predecessor to the Children & Young People Now Show, hosted over 40 exhibition stands from key suppliers and featured live demonstrations at the Extended Schools Activity Stage.

The Children & Young People Now Show 2009 replaces the Children's Centre and Extended School Show 2008 held at the Royal Horticultural Halls on 24 and 25 June.
